Reflecting on Values and Building Connections: Highlights from Logan’s October Staff Retreat

On October 10th, Logan staff came together for our Annual Staff Retreat, with Colorado’s stunning fall colors setting a beautiful backdrop for the day. We began with activities focused on our shared values, exploring how our individual values shape our relationships and align with those of our colleagues. This reflective start laid the groundwork for meaningful conversations throughout the day.

One of the retreat's highlights was an engaging session led by consultant Jamie Morgan, MNM (she/her). Jamie, a skilled trainer, consultant, facilitator, and coach with over two decades of experience, provided valuable tools for navigating courageous conversations—a skill especially vital as diverse viewpoints may arise during the election season. With a master's degree in nonprofit management, Jamie brings a rich understanding of organizational development to her work, empowering clients to create more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environments. Jamie’s commitment to learning and growth, along with her love for adventures with her family and her loyal dog, Indie, enrich her dynamic approach to consulting.

In addition to Jamie's workshop, staff heard updates from the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) committee, chaired by Alice Porter and Paige Bower, who shared important insights and progress. The day was filled with moments for personal reflection, journaling, laughter, and lively discussions. With delicious snacks, a relaxing lunch, and ample time for connection, the retreat offered a blend of joy, reflection, and camaraderie that strengthened our team bonds.

This retreat was more than just a day away from our usual routines—it was a powerful reminder of our commitment to building a community grounded in mutual respect, understanding, and shared purpose. We look forward to carrying these insights forward as we continue working together to make Logan a welcoming and inspiring place for all.
