Gracie Taub

Staff Writer, Harvard Political Review

Oct. 14, 2026

‍Grace Taub is a sophmore at Harvard, where she studies government. Gracie is passionate about politics and advocacy, fields in which she was particularly active during high school. She co-founded East High School's Students Demand Action chapter in Denver, which seeks to end the epidemic of gun violence in Denver’s schools and communities.

Now at Harvard, Gracie is active in the college community as a staff writer with the Harvard Political Review, the Director of Professional Development, at the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Law Association, a volunteer teacher at Harvard CIVICS, and a Harvard on the Run Move Leader with Harvard University Health Services.‍ In her role as the Director of Professional Development for the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Law Association, which strives to create a supportive space for women considering a career in law.

Lessons from Logan

Gracie shared that the most valuable lesson she gained from Logan was to pursue her passions and allow them to guide her learning, a philosophy that has shaped her well beyond her time at Logan. She believes that Logan’s passion-driven approach to education should be more widely embraced in the education system. When she attended a traditional public high school, Gracie found herself adopting a “Logan mindset” in her studies, seeking out opportunities that allowed her to engage in hands-on, experiential learning, such as speech and debate. Logan, she says, taught her the importance of self-accountability and setting her own standards for success, rather than measuring herself against a rubric.

Gracie is grateful that her learning experiences were not confined to a grading scale, but instead encouraged her to go beyond what would earn a good grade and focus on what would truly help her grow as a learner. Ultimately, Gracie credits Logan with giving her confidence in her unique approach to learning, as well as essential time-management and homework skills. These lessons, she notes, have continued to serve her well, especially in college, where her education is once again in her own hands.

Advice for Current Logan Students

Gracie encourages Logan students going into high school and college to join clubs and activities outside of the classroom. She says that the social dynamic of a traditional high school may seem strange after the communal nature of Logan, but social connections are present when students look for them. Gracie says that it is valuable for students to "search for their mini Logan communities" and find places within their school that resemble the hands-on and curiosity-centric approach of Logan.

Advice for Prospective Parents

Gracie wants prospective parents to know that they will not find an educational experience like Logan, but they should not be deterred by its uniqueness.

"The Logan model shouldn't be unparalleled; rather, its curiosity-driven approach should be found more widely throughout education."

Gracie emphasizes that Logan students will receive an education that is attentive and tailored specifically for them, which is a framework of learning that is difficult to find elsewhere. She also says that Logan will prepare them for life as a whole, rather than just professional contexts or further schooling.

Her favorite Logan unit? Neonatology.
