Annual Fund 2019-20

Dear Logan Families,

Woo hoo!!!  Welcome back to another exciting school year at Logan! Our daughter Sydney, who is eight, spent the ENTIRE summer break counting down the days to her return. We sure are glad to be back! We hope that your time away from Logan was full of adventure, joy, respite, and renewal!  We also hope that the transition back (or to Logan for the first time for our new families) has gone smoothly and you are starting to settle in to your classrooms and routines. Sydney transitioned upstairs for her first year of Lower IS and is LOVING her teachers, newfound independence, and of course, her new locker!

We are thrilled to be co-chairing the Annual Fund Committee this year, as Logan has become an integral and cherished part of our family. It is an honor to have an opportunity to give back to a community that has such an incredible impact on our child. Sydney is thriving, cultivating her inventive and creative spirit, and is filled with joy every day because of Logan. It is hard to believe we have only been here for two years, as we have felt in sync from the moment we arrived.

This year, the theme for the Annual Fund is “#Band Together. We couldn’t think of a better phrase to describe the mission we have as a community - to come together to support the incredible work of Logan; and what we witness every day – a school in harmony. In the halls, on the playground, in the classroom, we hear examples of children and teachers synchronized with one another. Logan is a place where adults truly listen and foster young minds and bright ideas. Logan is a place where every child fits.

Logan makes music like no other.

So, how can we ensure that Logan can continue to make harmony in our children’s lives? What exactly is the Annual Fund? As a new family to Logan just two years ago, we didn’t understand that tuition alone does not cover all of the costs of a Logan education. We all celebrate the individualized learning provided to our children, however, there is a gap. The purpose of the Annual Fund is to bridge that financial gap so we can continue to support our incredible teachers with training and competitive salaries and Logan can continue to grow in infrastructure, opportunity and innovation.

This can’t happen without your help in giving.

This year the difference is $2100 per student.

We have two goals: 100% participation from each Logan family and a total dollar amount of $253,000 to bridge the gap.

One hundred percent participation is vital, as it demonstrates a community banded together and is necessary to secure outside funding from external community partners such as grants and corporate funding. Please consider giving a gift of $2100 or more. Your gift of any amount will help us reach this goal and keep Logan making music for our children!

Your help is imperative. Our little singer and Ukulele player at home would agree! Syd has music in her heart and with the encouragement of her Logan teachers and friends, she took up the Ukulele a year ago and has been writing music to convey her inner monologue. She has written an original song about Logan (which will debut in the coming months) asking you to #band together to help us continue to provide incredible learning opportunities for our budding rock stars!

You’ll be hearing from us and our amazing committee of parent volunteers between now and Colorado Gives Day on December 10. Stay tuned for information about getting involved and how to donate to the Annual Fund.  In the meantime, as you walk the Logan halls, take a moment to listen - to a school in harmony, a community of children in sync – Logan truly is music to our ears.

With warmth and gratitude,

Stacey and Dan D’Angelo
