COVID Testing Resources

Testing Resources

We have heard that some doctors will not provide a referral for testing asymptomatic patients. At this time, it seems that private health clinics and hospitals are currently prioritizing COVID testing for symptomatic people, even if you fall into the category defined as exposure (less than 6 ft. from someone who tests positive for more than 15 minutes in a 24-hour period.)

We have looked into some testing options and have identified two places where you can go get tested if you are unable to obtain a referral from your child’s health care provider at this time or, if you would like to be tested for any reason. Both require scheduling an appointment.

You can book an appointment with Colorado Covid Drive-Up and they will do testing, whether or not the person is asymptomatic. You do not need a referral from a doctor. You do have to set up an account and book an appointment online. Please visit to see if your insurance is accepted by this organization. If your insurance is accepted, there is no cost to you - the insurance company will cover it. If your insurance is not listed, please call Colorado Covid Drive-Up directly to verify coverage. If you are not covered, the out of pocket cost is $180. Please contact prior to going to your appointment if you need help with paying for a test for your child.

Offering free testing through the end of this calendar year. You need to schedule an appointment in advance.
