In 1994, The Logan School's Board of Directors committed to a major undertaking
in order to secure a permanent site for the school in a setting that would take
full advantage of its experiential and hands-on learning activities. The
school applied for an educational site at the decommissioned Lowry Air Force
Base in Denver/Aurora and was awarded by public conveyance a 13 acre, four
building campus in the northwest corner of the Lowry Educational Center. A
capital campaign was launched to raise money for building and landscaping
renovations. Construction was begun in September, 1998. The move
occurred during the Summer, 1999.
The original campus began with 11 classrooms and 32,000 sq. ft.
Today we have grown to 12 classrooms and 34,500 sq. ft.
Renovation, stage I, took place during Summer 2005.
The renovations included remodeling the multipurpose room to include an
extended care and lunchroom area and to house the facilities department;
creating landscaping for a new entrance for the school, a new parking area, and a new soccer
field; and enlarging the playground. A capital campaign is currently
underway to accomplish stage II, which will result in renovations to the current
classroom building, including creating a new entrance and building out the west
wing.
